What is the difference between gene mapping and gene sequencing?

I was wondering what is the difference between DNA sequencing and and Gene mapping.

Gene mapping consists in the process of locating the exact position of a gene on a DNA strand. A single DNA strand usually has more than one gene. When a DNA strand is examined in order to find out the locus of different genes on it, and the respective distance between those genes, the process is referred to as gene mapping. Gene sequencing is the process of determining the order of nucleotides so to figure out how A, T, G, C are arranged so that the resultant protein can be predicted.
