So, I heard about DNA, but what is RNA?
What are the differences between DNA and RNA?
Both DeoxyriboNucleicAcid and RiboNucleicAcid consist of sub-units called nucleotides. They are both nucleic acids and can be found in the nucleus. Both DNA and RNA carry genetic information and are acidic. Both nucleic acids contain the bases Adenine, Cytosine, and Guanine, but DNA has Thymine where RNA has Uracil. RNA doesn’t contain Thymine while DNA doesn’t contain Uracil. Another difference is that DNA is double-stranded while RNA is single-stranded.
