Is having twins genetic?

So if me and my boyfriend want to have twins, can we get any genetic tests to see if we are compatible to have twins?

Having identical twins is not genetic, as this is the result of the same embryo randomly splitting. Genes are not involved.

Having fraternal twins can run in the family, but only the mother’s genetics matter. Fraternal twins pregnancies occur when two eggs are simultaneously fertilized. Paternal genes can’t make a woman release two eggs.

While the DNA of identical twins is 100% identical, the DNA of fraternal twins is only 50-75% similar.
If there is a pair of fraternal twins of different sexes, only the female twin has the genes to be a twins parent.
