Good genes = good looking?

Is there any evidence to suggest that good looks equal good genes or genetic fitness?

Good genes might equal facial symmetry. And for many, a symmetrical face appears good looking.

Actually, it’s more than just facial symmetry. I wanted to add to my answer above.

For evolutionary purposes, genetic fitness (which includes good looks) refers to the ability to survive and reproduce. Looking good makes you more attractive to the opposite sex, which gives you a higher likelihood to actually reproduce. So judging by this, good genes correlates positively with good looks.
